Getting started
Install, switch on the app embed and set up your first module.
6 articlesWhat do I have to do after installing?
Three things, in order. Turn the AlliDesk app embed on in your theme (Online Store → Themes → Customize → App embeds), because most of what shoppers see depends on it. Fill in Branding so the customer pages look like your shop. Then switch on the modules you want, one at a time — each carries a short setup guide that keeps showing until the module is really live.
Do I need to edit my theme code?
No. Everything on the storefront is an app block or an app embed. Open the theme editor, choose a section, add a block and look under Apps for AlliDesk.
What is the app embed, and why does it matter?
It is the one switch in your theme that lets AlliDesk draw anything on your storefront: the wishlist heart, the points bar, the sign-in window, reels, search, the push invitation. Without it a module can be switched on in the dashboard and still be invisible to shoppers.
Where does the customer portal live?
At /apps/account on your store domain. Customers reach it from the account link block or from the Sign in link in your header. Every module with a customer side appears there as a tab.
Does it work with every theme?
Yes. The portal renders inside your theme's layout and takes its fonts and colours from Branding, so it looks like the rest of the store.
Can I try a module without shoppers seeing it?
Yes. Switch the module on but leave the app embed off, or leave the theme block unplaced; set it up, then place the block when you are happy. Your own storefront is the best test — open it and use the module as a customer would.
